F. Thaddeus Arroyo, Cingular's chief information officer, is responsible for directing the company's internal information technology infrastructure, including Internet and Intranet capabilities, developing applications systems, overseeing Cingular's enterprise data centers, and leading the information technology (IT) organization.
As Cingular's chief information officer, Arroyo has successfully advanced technology initiatives while rationalizing Cingular's enterprise application portfolio and integrating
a new billing system.
Prior to joining Cingular, Arroyo served as senior vice president of Product Marketing and Development for Sabre Corporation. He also served as senior vice president of Information Technology Services for Sabre, where he held responsibilities for infrastructure development, deployment, and strategic technology planning in support of Sabre's large-scale outsourcing customers. Previously, Arroyo held leadership positions as manager, director, and vice president in the areas of global outsourcing, strategic infrastructure, and data network services for Sabre. Prior to joining Sabre, Arroyo worked at Southwestern Bell's IT organization.
Arroyo has been recognized by leading publications, including Hispanic Business ("100 Influentials", 2005); Business 2.0 ("Business 2.0 Dream Team", 2004); and Hispanic Engineer and Information Technology ("50 Most Important Hispanics in Technology and Business", 2004 and 2005). He received the 2002 "Georgia Global CIO of the Year Award" in recognition for technology leadership demonstrating innovation and creativity in planning and deploying enterprise systems.
Arroyo has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master's of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
