Rod Hamilton was hired as the inaugural CIO of Hygeia Corporation in September 2000 after spending 21 years at KPMG. At Hygeia he is responsible for all aspects of technology, including strategy, development and ongoing support. His efforts have been directed at application of web technology since 1995; this remains the primary technology in use at Hygeia. With clients scattered around the globe, use of highly available web applications has been pivotal to Hygeia's client service strategy.
As recognition of Hygeia's commitment to technology/business alignment and agile development, Hygeia was named by CIO magazine as one of the "Agile 100" in 2004 and has also been named to the CIO Innovative 100 in 2006.
