Bryson Koehler is Vice President, Global Distribution Technology for IHG
of the United Kingdom (LON: IHG; NYSE: IHG [ADRs]), the world's largest
and most global hotel company. Mr. Koehler reports to Tom Conophy, CIO.
Mr. Koehler is responsible for all technology design, development and operations of company's global distribution channels, which include all Internet, Voice and 3rd Party direct connections. He oversees vendor selection and governance, product development, content development, test engineering and project management for all internal and external lead projects. In 2007 the IHG distribution channels will provide almost 50% of IHG's revenues.
During his 5+ year tenure at IHG, Mr. Koehler has helped transform their technology platform into a recognized leader in the hospitality industry. The Global Distribution Technology platform at IHG currently supports over 13 languages, across 9 brands in almost 100 countries.
Mr. Koehler is a member of many customer advisor boards, including MapQuest and Akamai. He is a member of the Open Travel Alliance and the Hotel Technology Next Generation association. Most recently Mr. Koehler has been selected to serve as an expert consultant to the Gerson Lehrman Group.
An 11-year veteran of the technology industry, Mr. Koehler most recently served as Director, Global Sales, Vicorp.com for 2 years where he established a global sales support team which resulted in increased sales of 40%. Before that, Mr. Koehler served as a technical lead for USWeb where he managed the technical relationships for a broad array of clients. From 1996-1999, Mr. Koehler served as a technology strategy consultant for Arthur Andersen where he helped a diverse array of clients implement knowledge sharing platforms on emerging Internet technologies. Mr. Koehler also worked on Capitol Hill as a policy advisor, where he assisted in drafting numerous piece of legislation.
Mr. Koehler began his career in 1995 as a Political Consultant for The
Leadership Institute in Washington, DC.
Mr. Koehler earned his bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Corporate
Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
